Your Impact on Project Dress a Girl 2025

YOUR IMPACT

Project Dress A Girl 2025

The extraordinary generosity of the sewing community never ceases to amaze me. This year, you stitched with purpose—creating dresses filled with care, love, and hope. Whether you donated garments, funds, or simply shared the message, every gesture mattered. These gifts will travel far, bringing dignity to girls who need it most. They offer not just clothing, but a sense of worth and joy in a world that too often forgets them.

There were so many unforgettable moments this past month. Each year, participants raise the bar—and then some.

One highlight was releasing the *Louise Dress* pattern in September, designed especially for Project Dress A Girl. It began as a humble hand-drawn sketch, but thanks to the generous and talented Brigitte, it became a professional pattern that anyone could print and use with ease. Her kindness and expertise were a gift to us all.

Back in August, I had a lovely chat with Izzy from *@Dizzy Quilts and Sews* on her YouTube channel, where we talked about Project Dress A Girl and my role as the Canadian Ambassador for *Dress A Girl Around the World*. That conversation sparked something special—Lydia, who watched the video, made a $500 donation to help with shipping costs. I was stunned and deeply grateful for her generosity.

Another standout moment was meeting Anita at the Dressapoulouza event. She traveled over three hours just to be there, eager to learn and bring the project back to her Quilt Guild. Her dedication is a beautiful example of how this movement spreads—one stitch, one story, one person at a time.

Now, let’s talk about the dresses. They were nothing short of remarkable—colorful, perfectly sewn, and abundant. Canada donated an incredible 722 dresses, including contributions from Jeannie in Florida and Kristi from the USA. Dresses came in from every corner of the country: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. What a breathtaking show of unity and compassion.

This year’s success is hard to put into words. Saying “thank you” doesn’t feel like enough—but I thank you all. For your hard work, your donations, and above all, the love you poured into every dress. Your compassion is felt in every seam, and your impact will ripple far beyond what you can see.

The world needs more of the sewing community—to stitch it back together, one dress at a time.
